Before choir: either highlight the score for ease of use or make notes.
We have a few scores purely for learning purposes – but only if you want it – for some it is helpful and for others it isn’t. So, I have included individual choir part sheets so you don’t need to refer to the score. I find it helpful to use the score then once the song is known and I’m comfortable with it, the score is no longer needed. The score is only a learning aid.
Knowing your way around a score:
Highlight your part: I use:
Pink for sops / Yellow for altos / orange for tenors / green for bass/baritone
Make some notes on the score and on the individual sheets
You’re just too good to be true
Ist – Sing from bar 1-67
2nd – Sing from bar 9-24 (2nd time D.S.), skip to bar 45-61*
then add these words ‘ Oh Pretty Baby’ and sing from bar 55-64 and Finish
Rule the World
Every 10th bar is marked, see the wee numbers above
1st – Sing from bar 1-33 (D.S)
2nd – Sing from chorus – bar 14-20, skip to bar 34-46 (D.S),
3rd – Sing from chorus – bar 14-20, finish on bars 47-48
Pop these into your folder and we’ll sing a few of these, not all but some:
Rise up
Have you ever seen the rain
Lean on me
Follow the heron
Wellerman
I am the song
One day like this
Caravan of love
We will learn these songs over the weeks:
You’re just too good to be true
Rule the world
Staying alive
And some others
