{"id":9009,"date":"2020-01-10T01:00:08","date_gmt":"2020-01-10T01:00:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/winchesterfusionchoir.co.uk\/?p=9009"},"modified":"2020-03-11T23:32:00","modified_gmt":"2020-03-11T23:32:00","slug":"poem-by-sheila","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/winchesterfusionchoir.co.uk\/?p=9009","title":{"rendered":"Poem by Sheila"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>10 Jan 2020. &#8211; So pleased to hear you speaking and singing again, Sheila &#8211; your voice was gone for quite sometime and this poem shares it with us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I lost my voice this Christmas.<br \/>I lost my voice this Christmas,<br \/>Where oh where&#8217;s it gone?<br \/>It was working well on Friday then Saturday all went wrong.<br \/>My mouth still shuts and opens and tries to make the words,<br \/>But all else has disappeared, not a peep is heard.<br \/>If someone else has found it, I&#8217;d really like it back,<br \/>I&#8217;ve grown accustomed to its pitch and tone, always seemed on track.<br \/>It wasn&#8217;t the best of voices but nor was it the worst,<br \/>It&#8217;s range just really suited me and I would rate it first.<br \/>It excelled at giggling and laughter, could really tell a joke,<br \/>Family and friends recognised it along with other folk.<br \/>Now I can&#8217;t&nbsp; even whisper, not a croak or groan,<br \/>Makes me feel a bit isolated, silent on my own.<br \/>I can&#8217;t even hum, let alone sing, all really most bizarre,<br \/>Can&#8217;t communicate close by, let alone from afar.<br \/>When my voice heals and repairs I&#8217;ll welcome it back again,<br \/>I&#8217;ll value it most dearly and will try a short refrain.<br \/>Marie&#8217;s given me an exercise blowing bubbles down a straw,<br \/>Tony says a snorkel in the bath will heal my voice for sure.<br \/>I&#8217;m letting it rest, giving it time, it worked very hard just lately,<br \/>When it returns I&#8217;ll respect it more and enjoy it oh so greatly.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>10 Jan 2020. &#8211; So pleased to hear you speaking and singing again, Sheila &#8211; your voice was gone for quite sometime and this poem shares it with us.
